Springfield Police to hold SWAT training at Clark State Community College today

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police along with other SWAT Teams from across Southwest Ohio will be hosting SWAT team training this afternoon at Clark State Community College.

It will take take place from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Clark State Brinkman Education Center on South Limestone Street in downtown Springfield, a spokesperson for Clark State said Tuesday.

“On behalf of Clark State, we welcome all law enforcement agencies joining this training, sponsored by Springfield Police Division, said Jon Leman, director of risk and emergency management at Clark State.

SWAT teams will bring armored tactical vehicles and park them along South Limestone Street, the training will later move to the Clark County Fairgrounds, the school said.

“With the large law enforcement presence in the area, we wanted to make everyone aware of this training should anyone be concerned,” Leman said.
