Police were notified around 9 a.m. that notes containing threats were found inside the building prompting an investigation involving the school district and police, a Huber Heights police spokesperson said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.

“Building administration found three notes around the building that stated a threatening activity would happen at lunch,” a statement from Huber Heights City Schools Superintendent Kelly Spivey read. “Fortunately, it has been determined that there was, at no point, an actual, credible threat to the safety of our students, staff or school. We are thankful for the quick actions of our administration, police officers, and security team.”

Officers identified a suspect through school surveillance video, the spokesperson said. The suspect, who was not formally identified by police, is an employee of a third-party organization “that teaches unique concepts to students at the high school,” the police spokesperson said. The name of the organization the suspect works for was not released.

Spivey said a representative for the third-party contractor told the district “the individual had no prior criminal history or personnel records that were indicative of such behavior.”

Huber Heights Police also told the district the suspect had no prior criminal history.

Officers arrested the suspect but formal charges are still pending review by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police dispatch records, obtained in a News Center 7 public records request, indicate Aisha Traylor, 39, was arrested as part of the investigation.

Traylor is listed as an inmate in the Montgomery County Jail and is being held on a preliminary charge of inducing panic, according to online jail records.

“Our district has a zero tolerance policy for making threats of any type,” Spivey said. “The individual will not be allowed back on Huber Heights City Schools property under any circumstances.”
