Kendall Combs, 60, was found dead inside his home on Wendell Drive by a family member Monday around 3:30 p.m., Riverside police Maj. Matt Sturgeon said.

Sturgeon said Combs had been stabbed and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police later arrested Sarah Bierma, 38. She has been charged with two counts of murder and felonious assault. She’s expected to appear in Montgomery County Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing this afternoon, where her bond is expected to be set at $1 million, according to court records.

Bierma was armed with a knife when she was arrested, according to a police report.

Sturgeon said the preliminary investigation found that Bierma was a prostitute and Combs was a “John,” a term commonly used to describe a client of prostitution. However, Sturgeon said the arrangement between the two was unknown.

Police plan to present the case to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office Wednesday for consideration of formal charges, Sturgeon said.
