The Darke County Sheriff’s Office and Greenville Police Department are notifying people of a training exercise scheduled for this afternoon, according to Sheriff Mark Whittaker and Chief Eric Roberts.

This planned training exercise will occur at Family Health Services on Meeker Road in Greenville, Whittaker and Roberts said in a media release. Darke County Law Enforcement is in cooperation with Family Health services and their staff to complete the training.
There will be a large law enforcement presence as well as numerous safety vehicles in the area for training purposes, Whittaker and Roberts said.

This type of exercise allows local first responders and healthcare facilities to prepare for an actual event and provide realistic training opportunities for the participants, the media release said.
When the exercise wraps up, agencies will review and critique how the exercise went for future learning and training purposes, Whittaker and Roberts said.
