Andrew Bryce Ledwith, 45, was booked into the Miami County Jail on a preliminary charge of breaking and entering Tuesday after he was arrested, online jail records indicate.
Units were called to the Troy Freewill Baptist Church on South County Road 25A around 12:45 p.m. on reports of a burglary at the church, Sheriff Dave Duchak said in a media release. Reports to the sheriff’s office indicated the burglar fled from the scene on foot across a field.
Deputies and state troopers searched the field and found a man, later identified as Ledwith, running on the bike path east of the road.
Ledwith was found with items stolen from the church and was arrested, Duchak said.
He was also booked into the jail on an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Greene County.
