>> What we know: Snow potential for next week
MONDAY: Scattered snow showers mixing with rain early will switch to snow showers everywhere as temperatures drop. Most of Monday will be a slushy mess with little accumulation during daylight hours. Highs in the upper 30s expected early then falling. Once the sun sets and temperatures drop, snow will be able to accumulate. Roads may become slick overnight into Tuesday. 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulations will be possible for the Dayton area late Monday into Tuesday morning. Higher snow accumulations are expected northeast of Dayton. Winds will also increase throughout Monday with gusts up to 30mph at times.
TUESDAY: Slick spots to start Tuesday with scattered snow showers throughout the morning. Snow showers will taper into the afternoon/evening, but clouds will linger. It will be a windy day with gusts up to 30-35mph. Highs in the lower 30s will feel more like the teens and 20s due to the wind. Snow totals from Monday night through Tuesday may be an additional 1 to 2 inches. Watch for refreeze on untreated roads Tuesday night as temperatures drop back into the upper 20s.
WEDNESDAY: A stray flurry early Wednesday and a bit breezy will give way to partly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures. Highs in the upper 30s. Wind chills in the 20s through much of the day.
THURSDAY: A few more clouds around for Thursday. Chance of a passing flurry or sprinkle late. Still chilly with highs in the upper 30s.
FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy skies to end the week with a chance of a passing flurry or sprinkle. Highs around 40 degrees.
