Governor DeWine, Governor Kemp place wager on College Football Playoff semifinal

COLUMBUS — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp placed a friendly wager ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal between The Ohio State University and University of Georgia.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday night in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

DeWine offered some buckeye candies from Marsha’s Homemade Buckeyes in Perrysburg, Stewart’s Root Beer and maple syrup made by DeWine’s son, John DeWine at Flying Mouse Farms in Yellow Springs, according to a media release from the spokesperson with DeWine’s office.

Governor Kemp bet Georgia-grown peaches in honor of the Peach Bowl game, Georgia peanuts and Georgia-made apple cider, the spokesperson said.

The friendly wager was announced on both Governor DeWine and Governor Kemp’s twitter pages Friday afternoon.

The winner of this game will play the winner of the Michigan-TCU College Football Playoff Semifinal.

Kickoff between the Wolverines and Horned Frogs is at 4 p.m. in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.

The College Football Playoff championship game will be played on January 9 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
