A federally funded program by the U.S. Department of Labor, Rapid Response, aids in helping those affected by layoffs. Before the job fair, an informational session will be held 10:00–11:30 a.m. to explain the services OhioMeansJobs can offer to those affected by these layoffs, the spokesperson said.
The job fair will then run from 1:00–4:00 p.m. Those who plan to attend are encouraged to register ahead of time by calling 937-456-6224 and selecting option two. Attendees are encouraged to come with resumes.
Last week, Lam Research, Silfex’s parent company, announced a reduction of around seven percent of their entire workforce. The layoffs will result in a loss of around 1,300 employees across Lam Research’s companies.
The exact number of job loses at the company’s two facilities in Eaton and Springfield was not released.
