CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — A open house and award ceremony for Assistant Chief Michael Sullenberger of Christiansburg Fire Company was held Sunday at the village’s firehouse.

The event celebrated 51 years of active service to the department following his Jan. 5 retirement.
Sullenberger joined the fire department in January of 1969.
