Local toddler intent on becoming police officer meets real-life heroes

A local toddler who already knows what he wants to be when he grows up, and he got the best surprise when a police officer and detective came to his house.

Two-year-old Hunter Circle likes watching police cars on TV and in real life, said his mom, Taylor Circle. He likes seeing the sirens, the lights and yells whenever he sees a police cruiser.

So when a Dayton police officer and Dayton police detective showed up at Hunter’s house in a cruiser, his reaction: priceless.

“It was amazing ... he lit up as soon as they rolled up,” Taylor said. “He was so excited he was jumping up and down.”

They showered Hunter with goodies — they gave him stuffed animals, some masks, all these things that made him feel welcome and like a real-life police officer.

“It’s just very good to see something good,” Taylor said. “With everything going on with the pandemic, the election ... it’s just nice to have something good.”

Now that Hunter has officially met a police officer, he’s even more interested in what they do, his mom said.
