WARREN COUNTY — A teenager is dead following a crash involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 71 in Ohio early Thursday morning.

Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers were dispatched at 1:40 a.m. to Southbound Interstate 71 near Fields Ertel Road on initial reports of a crash, according to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati.
The crash happened when a 2019 International Harvester tractor-trailer combination going south on I-71 was hit head-on by a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was going north in the southbound lanes, according to a spokesperson for OSHP.
After the crash, both vehicles went off the side of the road and the tractor-trailer overturned.
The driver of the Jeep, a 17-year-old boy, died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 30-year-old Maple Heights man, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
All southbound lanes were shut down for several hours during the investigation. All lanes were reopened just after 8:30 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
