Darke County Sheriff’s Office releases name of woman killed in T-bone collision

OSGOOD, Darke County — UPDATED June 23, 2023 @ 12:42 p.m.:

A 20-year-old Versailles woman has been identified as the person killed in the Thursday afternoon collision at Versailles-Yorkshire and Bulcher roads, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office is reporting.

Hanna Gehret died at the scene of injuries suffered when she had to be extricated from her vehicle by mechanical means.

One person was killed Thursday afternoon in a T-bone collision at Versailles-Yorkshire and Bulcher roads, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office reports.

A woman driving a gray Honda Accord, which had stopped for a stop sign facing east on Bulcher, failed to yield the right of way to a tan Chevrolet Silverado driven by Steven Homan (29) of Minster, who was headed south on Versailles-Yorkshire.

The impact caused both vehicles traveled off the roadway and into a field.

The accident was reportedly occurred just before 5:30 p.m.

Homan’s vehicle rolled on its side before coming to rest. He was able to free himself and his juvenile passenger from the truck where they both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda was extracted by mechanical means but died at the scene.

Her name had not been released by the sheriff’s office at the time this report was being written.
