Name released of victim killed in Darke County crash involving DP&L utility truck

DARKE COUNTY — UPDATE: @ 9:16 a.m.:

One person has died after the crash in Darke County that involved a Freightliner DP&L utility truck.

Mark Reed, 32, of Arcanum died at the scene of the crash, according to a statement released from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Reed, traveling east on Darke Montgomery Line Road, drove off the right side of the roadway.

He then over-corrected, crossing the center line before driving off the left side of the roadway and rolling over, according the the statement.

The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ (8/16) 3:51 a.m.:

A coroner was called to the scene of the crash, according to Darke County dispatchers.

INITIAL REPORT

Emergency crews were on scene of a crash in the 9600 block of Darke-Montgomery County Line Road Saturday evening around 10:20 p.m.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle went into the cornfield and the victim was trapped.

We are working to learn if there are multiple vehicles involved and how severe injuries are.
