XENIA — Multiple felony charges have been approved stemming from an early morning shooting in Xenia that left one person suffering from non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Officers located and arrested Bruce Whitelow Jr. about seven hours after they found a male who had been hit by gunfire outside a residence on Haddon Court. Police were dispatched to the address following a 911 call just before 5:30 a.m. from someone who reported that their grandson had been shot.
Xenia firefighter/paramedics took the male to a hospital. The police division did not release any information about the male’s condition.
Police investigators consulted with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, which approved filing the following felony charges: improper discharge of a firearm at or into a habitation, felonious assault, and having weapons while under disability.
Whitelow will be arraigned in Xenia Municipal Court at a future date. He was being processed this afternoon at the Greene County Jail, where he will be held without bond.
Anyone with information or a video recording regarding the shooting is encouraged to notify the police division’s Criminal Investigation Section at (937) 376-7206 or leave a voicemail at the Xenia Police Tip Line, (937) 347-1623.
