Springfield police identify man killed in shooting

SPRINGFIELD — A man is dead after a shooting in Springfield late Tuesday night.

Springfield police identified the man Wednesday as Michael Minter.

Around 11:50 p.m. Springfield police and medics were called to a shooting in the area of the 600 block of South York Street, according to Springfield police dispatch and a Springfield police incident report.

When a Springfield officer got on the scene, they found Minter in a driveway who had been shot.

Minter was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Information about any suspects is unknown at this time, according to the report.

The shooting remains under investigation.
