BURLINGTON — A 17-year-old is in custody after he allegedly shot a man during a drug deal in Burlington, according to our news partner WCPO Cincinnati.

Deputies were called to the 3100 block of Featherstone Drive around 10 p.m. Saturday. When deputies arrived they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound on his forearm and a 16-year-old witness, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

The two at the scene met the 17-year-old suspect at the location for a drug deal, the sheriff’s office said. A dispute during the drug deal led to the 17-year-old firing multiple shots from his vehicle, according to deputies.
The injured 18-year-old was transported to a local hospital.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect and executed a search warrant at his home, the sheriff’s office says. The 17-year-old was taken into custody and their handgun was found buried in the backyard, according to deputies.
The sheriff’s office also seized marijuana and other drug paraphernalia at the scene, deputies say.
The 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a minor and trafficking marijuana. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
