Police were called out to the area of Skokiaan Drive in reference to ‘suspicious activity.’ The caller had stated that two men were wrapping the back window of a red SUV for 20-30 minutes, police say.

When officers arrived on the scene, Chase Coy and Jacob Porter fled from the scene, police say.

During the chase, officers located a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in the SUV as well as a glass pipe.

Officers contacted the owner of the SUV, she told police that the car was supposed to be in a garage getting maintenance by Porter. She did not know that he was out in her car, and she wished to report it stolen, police say.

Officers tracked Coy to a truck parked in a driveway, police say. Officers claim Coy resisted arrest, but they were able to handcuff him.

Other responding officers were able to locate Porter in a drainage pipe, where he was submerged in icy cold water, police say. Porter was around 50 feet into the pipe and was having a hard time getting out of the pipe, possibly because of hypothermia, police say.

Porter was able to remove himself from the pipe and officers took him to a local hospital for treatment. He was diagnosed with acute hypothermia, according to police.

When Porter was released from the hospital, he was taken to the Warren County Jail. Porter is charged with obstructing official business and had other felony warrants out of Montgomery County for drug possession, officers say.

Coy was charged with criminal trespass, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, according to police.
