2 dead after 3-vehicle crash in Logan County Sunday

LOGAN COUNTY — Two people are dead after a crash involving three vehicles in Logan County Sunday evening.

Edith Mollett, 48, of Lima, and Harry Collins, 37, of Lakeview, were identified as the two people killed in the crash, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and first responders were called out to U.S. 33 near Township Road 99 in McArthur Township around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday.

An initial investigation showed that Mollett was heading west on U.S. 33 in a black Nissan Altima when she attempted to pass a vehicle.

While trying to pass, Mollett hit a silver Honda Civic, driven by a 32-year-old Lewistown woman, head-on.

The crash caused a grey Toyota RAV4 to hit the back of the Honda.

Mollett and Collins, a passenger in the Honda, were pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Civic was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital. She was then transferred to the University of Ohio State Wexner Medical Center where she remains in stable condition.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
