2 hospitalized after Dayton crash traps, injures them

DAYTON — Two people were hospitalized after a crash trapped them inside their vehicles and injured them in Dayton Sunday overnight.

Dayton police and fire responded to the 2600 block of Nicholas Road at around 3:51 a.m. on reports of a crash with injuries and an entrapment, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

As officers arrived on scene, they found that two people were trapped inside their respective vehicle, dispatch said. A rescue team was deployed to extricate the victims.

Once extracted, they were suffering injuries following the crash, prompting two medical units to be dispatched to the site. They were subsequently transported to Miami Valley Hospital for further treatment. Their conditions were unknown at the time of questioning.

Dispatch was not aware of how many vehicles were involved in the crash.

Dayton police led the investigation into the crash.
