Miami Township Police and Miami Valley Fire and EMS were dispatched near the 8600 block of Lyons Gate Way at 6:04 a.m. on reports of an injury crash, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch said.

Dispatchers told emergency responders, over scanners, that a vehicle was struck by a semi-truck, causing injuries.

A woman reported not being able to feel below her waist, believing that she suffered a pelvic injury, dispatchers said over emergency scanners.

Medics transported two women to area hospitals: one person to Kettering Health Miamisburg and another to Kettering Health Washington Township, dispatch and a spokesperson for the Miami Township Police Department told News Center 7.

Officers blocked off the nearby region to handle the crash and the injured victims.

Police attempted to understand what exactly happened during the crash, but were left with more questions during their preliminary investigation.

Officers did not know where the crash happened, speculating that the collision happened near Dayton. The women were thought to have then driven the car further south into Miami Township, a spokesperson for the department said.

Officers also did not know how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what the other vehicle type was.

Miami Township continued to investigate the scene at the time of reporting.

This is a developing story and we will update it as more information is released.
