UPDATE: Man in critical condition, woman remains hospitalized Springfield shooting

SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @ 11:14 a.m. (5/11):

A man and a woman are in the hospital after a shooting in Springfield late Tuesday night.

An officer with Springfield Police Department said that crews were called to a shooting at the 1000 block of Tibbetts Avenue around 11:55 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a man and woman who had both been shot, according to a Springfield police report.

The woman, identified as Melissa Leece, was shot in the ankle. According to the report, Steven Worthington was shot “multiple times in his legs and torso.” The report did not disclose the victim’s ages.

Both victims were transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center, but were later transported to Miami Valley Hospital.

Worthington is in critical condition, according to a hospital spokesperson on Wednesday. Leece’s injuries were considered non-life threatening.

There was no suspect information available at this time and the incident is under investigation.
