The 167th Montgomery County Fair begins its seven-day run today in the second year at its new location in Jefferson Twp.

The unveiling of the "Friends of the Fair" donor wall at 10:30 a.m. serve as the prelude to the gates opening at the Fairgrounds & Event Center of Montgomery County, 645 Infirmary Road.
Today is also Veteran’s/Senior Citizen’s Day, featuring half-price admission all day, and the "pie baking contest" at 11:30 a.m. with celebrity judges that include Montgomery County Agricultural Society Board President John Yancik.
Fair highlights include rides, games, food, rodeo, demo-derby, motocross, drag racing, truck/tractor pull, tug-a-truck, circus, fishing tank, musical entertainment and back by popular demand helicopter rides. For a complete schedule of events visit MontCoFair.com.
Admission is $10 per person which includes grandstand events and plenty of free parking. Youngsters 6 and under free with paying adult. Take the U.S. Route 35 West Connector (C.J. McLin Jr. Parkway) to Infirmary Road to get to the fairgrounds.
