Robber shows gun in Sunoco robbery

DAYTON — UPDATE @3:07 p.m. (Dec. 18)

A man was able to make off with $335 during a robbery of a Dayton Sunoco gas station.

The suspect approached a clerk at the station located at 1502 Wayne Avenue, showed a gun, and demanded money, according to a Dayton police incident report.

Witnesses said the man was wearing a black jacket with a red hoodie underneath. He also was wearing a red and black baseball cap, black pants, gloves, and had long dreadlocks, according to witnesses.

A K-9 officer was requested to attempt to track the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

Around 9 p.m. the Walgreens on Hoover Avenue in Dayton was robbed by a suspect with a similar description, however police have not said if the robberies are connected.

A second robbery at a Dayton business was reported less than an hour after another robbery on the west side of the city.

Police responded to the Sunoco at 1502 Wayne Avenue around 9:45 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery, according to initial reports.

The suspect was described as a black male with shoulder length dreadlocks, a red hooded sweatshirt, red and black baseball hat, tattoos on his hands and clean shaven, initial reports indicated.

The suspect was able to get away with cash from the business, according to reports.
