3 injured, 1 seriously, after crash in Darke Co.

DARKE COUNTY — Three people were hurt, one seriously, after a crash in Darke County Saturday night.

Around 6 p.m. Darke County deputies were called to the intersection of New Madison Coletown and Hollansburg Roads to reports of a crash with injuries, according to a media release.

An initial investigation found that a Jeep driven by Julie Matamoros, 40, of Greenville was traveling northbound on New Madison Coletown Road when Matamoros failed to yield the right of way to a Buick driven by Leona Mohrmeyer, 80, of Hollansburg.

Mohrmeyer and her passenger were taken to Wayne Hospital with minor injuries.

Matamoros was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

The crash reminds under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
