UPDATE: Jefferson Twp. man identified as victim of deadly fire Wednesday; 2 others injured

JEFFERSON TWP. — UPDATE @ 11:25 a.m. (March 10):

A Jefferson Twp. man has been identified as the victim of a deadly fire early Wednesday morning, according to the Montgomery County Coroner.

Darrell Hudson, 68 was identified as the victim who died from his injuries after the fire in the 5800 block of Pinnacle Road Wednesday, Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said in a media release Thursday.

Hudson was transported to Kettering Health Main Campus where he later died. His cause and manner of death are still under investigation and have not been determined.

Two other people inside the house were injured in the fire however their conditions were not released.

FIRST REPORT (March 9):

One person has died and two others are injured after a house fire at the 5800 block of Pinnacle Road, according to Jefferson Township Assistant Chief Greg Wilcox.

Crews were called to a house fire around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to initial reports.

One was taken to the hospital from the scene, where they later died from their injuries, according to Wilcox.

Two others were treated on scene, Wilcox told News Center 7.

Information about their conditions was not available.

Wilcox said that crews from Dayton, Moraine, Miami Valley Fire, Farmersville and Trotwood assisted.

It took crews 18 minutes to knock down the fire, according to Wilcox.

The cause of the fire and the amount of damage done is unknown at this time.
