$3 million in weapons and narcotics seized in Butler County drug bust

BUTLER COUNTY — A Middletown man has been charged with two felonies for his alleged involvement in a large drug bust, according to a release from Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

22-year-old Michael S. Morales of 1800 the block of Baltimore Street was arrested and charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, the release said.

The Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force (B.U.R.N.) received information reference large shipments of narcotics to be delivered in the 2600 block of Hamilton Cleves Road.

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021 agents acted on the tip.

Agents watched as a Penske rental truck left the premises at about 7:20 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, the sole occupant, was identified as Morales.

Inside the van, agents found 30 large cardboard boxes that contained about 75,000 THC vape cartridges, 40 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms and numerous packages of TCH edibles packaged as candy.

The street value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately 2.5 million dollars, the release said.

A search warrant was also conducted leading to the discovery of several firearms.

More charges will be presented pending lab results, the release said.
