3 teens taken to hospital after ejection rollover crash in Darke Co.

DARKE COUNTY — Three teenagers were flown to the hospital after a crash in Darke County late Friday night.

Deputies with the Darke County Sheriff’s Officers were called to a reported crash in the 13400 block of Oswalt-Good Road around 10:30 p.m.

Initial investigations revealed to deputies that a black 2010 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 16-year-old Kohen Mote of Greenville, was traveling north of Oswalt-Good Rd, just north of Van Kirk Road when the crash happened.

Mote had lost control of his car and drove over a hill, into a ditch, and finally rolled several times into a field.

Mote and his front-seat passenger, 16-year-old Levi Stayer of Union City, were ejected from the car.

The back seat passenger,15-year-old Kyle Wehrkamp of Union City, was able to get out of the car by themself.

All three teens were taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Their injuries are all non-life-threatening, according to a release.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says speed is a suspected factor in the crash but remains under investigation at this time.
