CINCINNATI — One person reportedly is in critical condition and four others suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday evening when gunfire disrupted a community event at a park in Cincinnati, police said.
Sunday, in a social media post, the Cincinnati Police Department appealed to the community for help in tracking down those responsible for the shooting at Bramble Park in the city’s Madisonville neighborhood. The statement, read, in part:
“Silence is a form of violence. Thus, anyone who has information or may have witnessed this tragic incident, we ask that you please come forward. Our investigators need your help and cooperation to quickly identify those responsible for this heinous act.”
Police were dispatched shortly after 6:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting.

An officer on scene told our news partners at WCPO that five people were injured in the shooting.
Two witnesses said the shooting happened during the annual “Madisonville Day” event at the park. Hundreds of people, including children, were there. witnesses said.

Witnesses also said a fight broke out before the shooting, but police have said it is not clear if the gunfire came from those fighting.
