Six people were taken to area hospitals for evaluation, according to Dayton Fire Captain Brad French. They were all conscious when transported from the scene, but their current conditions at the hospital are unknown.

Fire crews ventilated the house during the incident to render it safe.

At this time, carbon monoxide accumulation due to improperly ventilated cooking/heating appliances is the suspected cause of illness, French said.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
