9 UVMC OB nurses pregnant at the same time

MIAMI COUNTY — Registered Nurses employed in the Obstetrics Unit at Premier Health’s Upper Valley Medical Center are all pregnant.

On Wednesday they scheduled a group photo session that was set before the first one was going on maternity leave, but it was too late! The first, Jenna Kettering, RN, of Covington, went into labor and gave birth Wednesday.

Due dates for the others who are anxiously awaiting their arrivals are between now and December. They include: Dustina Schroeder of Bradford; Haley Copenhagen of Troy; Stephanie McCullough of Arcanum; Cassie Subler of Vandalia; Meghan Albers of Troy; Taylor Nass of Troy; and Hope Jenkinson of Greenville. A ninth one was not available for the photo.

At the hospital, maternity leave runs an average of 12 weeks. All births are scheduled to take place at Upper Valley Medical Center. There is a chance that four of the nine could be on maternity leave at the same time. The Obstetrics Unit will continue to be well staffed.
