Beavercreek Police officers and medics were dispatched around 10:26 p.m. on initial reports of a single-vehicle crash.
An initial investigation showed that Wood lost control of the truck after trying to pass another vehicle on U.S. 35 between the exits for Research Blvd. and N. Fairfield Rd. He was thrown from the truck and died at the scene.
The crash closed EB U.S. 35 for over six hours.
Alcohol and weather conditions may have been contributing factors to the crash, Molnar said. The crash remains under investigation.
