KETTERING — An Alter High School football player was hurt right before Thursday’s game against Fairmont.

News Center 7 reached out to Alter High School officials, asking whether a student was hurt in an incident using the victory sword.
The school replied, saying a student was hurt during the traditional game-opening ceremony, but did not say anything about the sword.

The injured player went to Dayton Children’s Hospital and was later released.
