At Pendleton’s Produce in German Township, people come to this part of Clark County for fresh fruits and vegetables.

“We do a little bit of everything. It’s a small farm,” Scott Pendleton, owner of Pendleton’s Produce said.

Blevins also did a little bit of everything here.

From helping customers get orders to their car, to shucking corn, even dressing up as Santa at the farm during Christmas time.

“Just helpful and always wanted to help somebody,” Pendleton said.

But now, so many people here, like Pendleton, are adjusting after the painful news they got last week.

“I was on the back of a truck and I got a phone call and about fell clear off the back of the truck,” Pendleton said.

As News Center 7 previously reported, Blevins was outside his car at Snyder Park in Springfield when another car hit and killed him.

An employee for the Clark County Public Library said Blevins was a beloved security officer for one of the branches.

He was also a one-time council member in Tremont City.

Blevins’ connections ran deep in Clark County — a community now grappling with the reality of life without him.

“It’s way different because you could hear him chuckle. I’d be back at the shop or over here working on something, loading trucks, unloading trucks, and you could hear him giggling and laughing. It’s going to be a lot different, unfortunately,” Pendleton said.

Pendleton’s Produce will hold a vigil for Blevins and two other community members, Kylie Voorhees and Landon Overholser, who died in a separate crash.

Police said the crash that killed Blevins remains under investigation.

We will continue to follow this story.
