UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled for 2-week-old baby taken by mother in Mansfield

MANSFIELD — UPDATE: 9 p.m.

Authorities say the baby has been safely located and the mother is in custody at this time.

INITIAL REPORT:

An Amber Alert has been issued for a 2-week-old girl that is believed to be in danger.

The Mansfield Police Department says the baby was taken by her mother, 38-year-old Mandy Jaynes, at approximately 5:54 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say Jaynes is a known drug addict. The baby, whose name has not been released, is believed to be in danger, according to authorities.

The baby was taken from a residence in the 1200 block of Woodville Road in Mansfield.

Jaynes is described to be 5 feet 1 inch tall, 125 pounds and has blonde hair and green eyes.

The vehicle involved is a dark blue 2005 Ford Explorer with OH plate number JBJ9577.

Anyone who sees Jaynes, the child or the vehicle involved is asked to call 911 or 1-877-262-3764.

The Amber Alert has been issued for North Central Ohio, Central Ohio and South Central Ohio, which includes Adams, Ashland, Crawford, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Richland, Ross, Scioto, Union, Vinton, and Wyandot counties.
