The Huber Heights Police Division’s next Citizen Police Academy starts March 7.
The academy is open to all persons 21 and older who live or work in Huber Heights, according to a release. It is limited to 15 participants who must pass a background check.
Classes are offered from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. one night a week over an eight-week period.

Applications and program packets are available for pickup between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Huber Heights Police Division, 6121 Taylorsville Road. Applications must be returned by Feb. 22.
The CPA will expose citizens to a number of current law enforcement issues and the latest procedures, and it will provide them with an overview of the training received and functions performed by officers, the release stated.

Training is provided by police officers and an optional ride-along is included in the program along with tours of the Police Division and Montgomery County Municipal Court Eastern Division buildings.
At the end of the academy, a graduation dinner will be held and participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
