WILMINGTON — An investigation into recent threats made concerning an area high school lead to an arrest this week.
Police arrested Wilmington High School student Wednesday after the student made threats concerning the school on the social media app, Snapchat.

No direct threats were made toward the school and there was “no cause for further alarm,” Wilmington City Schools Superintendent Jim Brady told parents and staff.
Police launched their investigation into the treat after receiving information from the public, according to a release from police.
“This kind of collaboration builds trust and ultimately can make our city safer overall,” Wilmington Police Chief Ronald Fithen said.
