CINCINNATI — An area zoo is closing early before an impactful winter storm moves into southern Ohio.

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens posted to social media saying they will close at 1 p.m. on Sunday and remain closed through Monday.

Animal care staff will stay overnight at the zoo to take care of the animals, according to the zoo.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued has been issued for Butler, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, and Warren counties in Ohio until midnight on Jan. 7.
Hamilton County, where the zoo is located, is included in this warning.
