Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Warning in effect; storms cause heavy damage, storm-related injuries

Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the following counties until 5:45 a.m.: Clark, Greene, Miami and Montgomery.

Flood Advisory has been issued for Mercer County until 4:30 a.m.

Tornado Warning and Tornado Watch are no longer in effect for our area.

After tornadoes and severe storms moved through the area Monday, widespread damage, including houses and businesses, were reported and resulted in storm-related injuries.

“We don’t have numbers yet”, said spokeswoman Elizabeth Long with Kettering Health Network, who are caring for people in several of their emergency departments.

DETAILED FORECAST

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase this evening ahead of a few isolated storms before 9 p.m., according to Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.  A more organized cluster of storms will move through the northern Miami Valley in the late evening and overnight hours.

Any storms that develop have the potential to be strong to severe. Damaging winds and hail are the main severe threats. Heavy rain could also result in some flooding.  A brief, isolated tornado is possible with the storms too, Vrydaghs said. Temperatures will remain mild through the night with lows falling to around 70 degrees.

TUESDAY: Partly sunny skies with warm and muggy conditions throughout the day. Highs will reach the middle 80s. We'll see another chance for a few showers or storms to develop late in the day and into the evening.

WEDNESDAY: We'll see mostly cloudy skies with windy conditions mid-week. There's a chance for showers and storms as highs peak in the lower 80s.

THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy skies again as the chance for showers and thunderstorms continue. It'll be breezy with highs in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy skies and another chance for showers and thunderstorms will end the work-week. Highs for the day will be in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY: A great start to the weekend with mostly sunny skies early before some clouds build in late. There will be a chance for storms at night. Highs reach the upper 70s.
