Around 12 grams of meth found during traffic stop in Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY — A 45-year-old man was arrested on drug charges in Mercer County Sunday night, according to Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman.

A Mercer County deputy stopped a driver for a traffic violation in the area of Clover Four Road and Dicke Road in Franklin Township at approximately 10:41 p.m.

Timmerman identified Jesse Woods, 45, of Troy, as the driver.

A Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was called to the scene to help with the stop.

The K9 did a free air sniff test around the car and alerted deputies to the alleged presence of narcotics.

Deputies searched the car and found about 12 grams of suspected methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia, according to Timmerman.

Woods was arrested on possession of drugs charges.

He has been booked into the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility and is being held without bond.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case for any additional charges.
