Attempted abduction leaves police searching for suspect

GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS — A woman was the victim of an attempted abduction in Grandview Heights, according to the Grandview Heights Division of Police.

The woman was walking on Baldwin Drive near Yard Street when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her toward a parking lot with a vehicle idling in it, police say.

Police say the suspect was wearing a surgical mask, a tan sweater and dark pants, and is around 5′10′' with dark hair.

The woman was able to break free and run away and the suspect ran toward the parking lot, according to police.

Surveillance cameras show a vehicle, which police believe to be a Chevrolet Cruz, circling the area and leaving the parking lot just after the incident.

The Grandview Heights Division of Police ask anyone with relevant information to contact (614) 488-7901 and ask to speak with detectives.
