WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — One person is seriously injured and several others were hospitalized after a crash in Washington Township Tuesday night, according to a spokesperson from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and medics were called to the intersection of Mad River Road and Yankee Street just after 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies located a Chevrolet Equinox and a Honda Pilot at the intersection with heavy damage.
An investigation found that the Equinox was traveling north on Mad River Road and attempted to turn left onto Yankee Street, failing to yield to the Pilot traveling south on Mad River Road, the spokesperson said.

The driver of the Pilot was extricated from the car and transported to Kettering Medical Center with serious injuries.
The other driver and all passengers involved were transported to Kettering Medical Center.
The Equinox driver was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
The spokesperson said impairment is not a factor in this crash.
