INITIAL REPORT:
Axiom Space has announced the departure of Dayton-area entrepreneur Larry Connor and the rest of the AX-1 crew.
Connor and the rest of the AX-1 crew was originally scheduled to depart the International Space Station April 19, but it was delayed due to weather. A slight change was made to the crew’s schedule Saturday.
According to a post on the ISS’s Twitter page, the private astronaut crew undocked from the ISS around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, 15 minutes after their original estimated departure time.

They are expected to splash down on the coast of Florida around 1:00 p.m. Monday.
“Teams will continue to monitor weather at the splashdown sites prior to undocking to ensure conditions are acceptable for a safe recovery of the Ax-1 astronauts and Dragon spacecraft,” NASA said in a release.
It will be streamed on NASA’s website as well as Axiom’s website.
