UPDATE @ 1:07 p.m.
The Axiom Space Crew and the Miami Valley’s own Larry Connor have splashed down safely back to earth off the coast of Florida.
INITIAL REPORT:
Axiom Space has announced the departure of Dayton-area entrepreneur Larry Connor and the rest of the AX-1 crew.
Connor and the rest of the AX-1 crew was originally scheduled to depart the International Space Station April 19, but it was delayed due to weather. A slight change was made to the crew’s schedule Saturday.
According to a post on the ISS’s Twitter page, the private astronaut crew undocked from the ISS around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, 15 minutes after their original estimated departure time.
