DARKE COUNTY — Fire crews from across Darke County were called to battle a fire on state Route 121 South of Greenville Monday.

The fire was reported around 4 p.m. on state Route 121 about two miles south of Hogpath Road.
First crews on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames, initial reports indicate.
A third alarm with additional firefighters and resources was eventually requested, according to crews on the scene.

The fire destroyed a cinder block-constructed structure that housed thousands of dollars worth of farming equipment, according to fire crews.
The fire is believed to be caused by a lawnmower sitting close to the structure.
Crews also had to battle the high winds on top of the flames.
No injuries were reported, according to fire crews.
The fire remains under investigation by New Madison Fire Department.
