Beavercreek high school gets silver medal at WGI World Championships

BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek High School took home a silver medal at this year’s Winter Guard Invitational (WGI) World Championships in Dayton.

The Indoor Percussion Ensemble (IPE) finished in second place at the WGI’s Percussion Scholastic A (PSA) Class, the school announced.

They performed Friday in the semifinals at the Nutter Center and advanced to the finals at UD Arena that night.

The ensemble played their 2023 program, “Reach for the Stardust,” a breathtaking set of David Bowie beats, according to the school.

Beavercreek finished with a score of 94.8 and earned a second place finish.

They are the only school from Ohio to make it to the finals in the PSA class.
