If you trust video game simulations and are a Cincinnati Bengals fan, then EA Sports’ Madden NFL prediction on who will win the Super Bowl will likely make you a happy football fan.

Madden NFL released its projection for the big game on Sunday and predicted the Bengals will defeat the LA Rams by a score of 24-21.

But, how reliable are the video game predictions when it comes to previous Super Bowl predictions?

The video game has only been right two of the last five years, according to The Sporting News.

Monday afternoon the Bengals were 4.5 point underdogs in the Super Bowl matchup against the Rams.

EA Sports has held Super Bowl game simulations since 2005.

All time, the video game has accurately predicted the winner of the game in 11 of the last 18 years. The only time the game has predicted both the winner and final score correctly was for the Super Bowl XLIX matchup between the Patriots and Seahawks, when the Patriots won by a score of 28-24.
