Bicyclist remains in serious condition after being hit by vehicle in Dayton

DAYTON — A bicyclist remains in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Dayton Wednesday.

Police and medics responded to the crash in the area of Riverside Drive and Ridge Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

According to a spokesperson for the Dayton Police Department, the initial investigation shows the bicyclist was on Ridge Ave. and crossed Riverside Dr. in the crosswalk on their bike against the red “don’t walk” signal when he was struck.

The bicyclist was identified as a 71-year-old man, a Dayton police crash report indicated.

The spokesperson says the man in still in serious condition.

No citations have been issued yet as the investigation is still ongoing.
