MIAMI VALLEY — Bird flu has been detected in some wildlife in the Miami Valley.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said they have submitted samples of multiple dead would birds to test for the presence of bird flu.

As they await results, ODNR said they presuming dead birds in the following counties are positive for bird flu: Auglaize, Erie, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Montgomery Richland, Sandusky, and Warren.
ODNR is currently testing Canada geese, trumpeter swans, and one mallard.
News Center 7 previously reported that bird flu was found in nearly 1 million commercial chickens in Darke County.
