Boat capsizes on Eastwood Lake; two teenage boys rescued

DAYTON — UPDATE@ 3:15 p.m.

Two teenage victims were rescued from a capsized boat on Eastwood Lake Thursday afternoon. Crews from Metro Parks and Dayton Fire Rescue both helped in bringing the victims to safety. No one was hurt and the victims talked to News Center 7 reporter Sean Cudahy after the rescue. His full interview with the boaters can be seen on News Center 7 beginning at 5 p.m.

UPDATE @ 2:27 p.m.

At least two people have been rescued and are in good condition. Crews are still on scene and report everybody that was in the boat has been accounted for.

Rescue crews are working to tow a boat to shore on Eastwood Lake that capsized Thursday afternoon.

A MetroParks ranger said the boat’s occupants are accounted for and not injured. The ranger added the incident was a result of inexperience.

Multiple fire crews have responded after a boat capsized on Eastwood Lake in Dayton Thursday afternoon.

Rescue crews are working to pull the boat ashore and no injuries have been initially reported.
