DAYTON — The body of a boy found in the Great Miami River in Dayton Saturday has been identified as 7-year-old Lucas Rosales.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we confirm the devastating loss of a beloved young boy, who was found deceased Saturday evening. Our community is in mourning as we come to terms with this heartbreaking news,” a release from Schlientz & Moore funeral home stated.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed to News Center 7 that they had Rosales’ body in their custody and he has been released to a funeral home.

A visitation will be held at Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel on May 22 at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12 p.m.
Dayton police and fire responded Saturday evening to reports of a body in the water in the area of W. Riverview Avenue and Monument Avenue.
Rosales went missing on April 29 when he was last seen fishing with his family at Eastwood MetroPark, park rangers previously told News Center 7
A tribute fund has been created in Rosales’ honor.
